Built for Real-World Automation

Designed by Dominick Lee, the inventor of GyroPalm, OmniBot V2 delivers the perfect balance of power, safety, and intelligence. With a robust aluminum chassis, 250-lb payload capacity, and a full ROS2 Humble stack running on an Intel N100 Mini PC (or NVIDIA Jetson Orin), the robot adapts seamlessly to warehouses, facilities, tech campuses, labs, and research environments. The built-in Slamtec S2L 360° Lidar enables reliable SLAM and autonomous navigation, while optional GyroPalm Spectrum integration adds intuitive gesture-based operation and AR visualization for driving, training, and telepresence. Weighing less than 60 lbs (without payload), OmniBot V2 can be transported in the trunk of a typical 4-door sedan for events, building inspections, or facility-to-facility deployments.

Technical Specifications

Engineered for reliability, safety, and expandability, OmniBot V2 brings advanced autonomy, high runtime, and industrial-grade design to modern facilities and research institutions.

  • Performance and Power

OmniBot V2 runs on a 36V 8Ah Li-ion smart battery with BMS protection, offering a typical runtime of 6–8 hours per charge — perfect for facility automation, long research sessions, and continuous mapping tasks. Its differential drive system is tuned for smooth control, with speeds up to 8 mph (3.5 m/s) for rapid campus or warehouse traversal.

A regulated 12V output powers the onboard Mini PC, while a 5V USB rail supports accessories, microcontrollers, lighting, or extra sensors. Combined with the robot’s efficient power design, OmniBot V2 ensures consistent performance across demanding workflows.

  • Navigation and Sensors

Designed for precise autonomy, the OmniBot V2 utilizes the Slamtec S2L Lidar with a 360° field of view, 18m range, and 32,000 samples/sec — enabling robust SLAM and adaptive path planning in dynamic environments. OmniBot V2 fully supports ROS2 Nav2 with obstacle avoidance, mapping, and recovery behaviors. Smoothly avoid obstacles with MPPI algorithm in Nav2. Futhermore, OmniBot V2 provides tools for easily defining keepout zones in buildings, setting preferred routes, and editing SLAM maps.

Researchers can augment the robot with additional sensor packages like Intel RealSense D415 for depth-based perception, human-following, or object detection tasks.

  • Safety & Compliance

The system incorporates triple emergency-stop mechanisms: a wired E-stop, a wireless handheld Safety Stick, and the GyroPalm Encore “Palm-Up” gesture-based E-stop — giving operators multiple layers of rapid intervention. The robot’s power system includes resettable fuses on both main power and charging circuits to protect mission-critical operations.

With an IP53 enclosure and design principles aligned with ISO3691-4, OmniBot V2 meets industrial standards for dust resistance, water spray protection, and safe operation in mixed-use environments.

  • Compute System & Connectivity

OmniBot V2 is powered by an Intel N100 (or N150) Mini PC with 12–16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 128GB SSD, or in custom configurations, features the NVIDIA Jetson Orin. This enables the robot to handle compute-heavy workloads including SLAM, AI inference, and multi-robot coordination. Ubuntu 22.04 and ROS2 Humble come preinstalled, along with relevant drivers, GyroPalm's Python SDK for rapid integration, and GyroPalm Realtime packages.

Connectivity options include 2.4/5GHz WiFi, Bluetooth, and optional GyroPalm Realtime for secure remote operation and telepresence from anywhere in the world.

  • Docking & Battery Management

OmniBot V2 features IR and camera-guided docking capabilities. The magnetic charging dock enables hands-free self-alignment, allowing the robot to autonomously recharge between missions with high precision. Both the dock and onboard charging hardware feature short-circuit and overload protection for maximum safety.

OmniBot V2 also features near real-time battery monitoring and time-remaining estimation through integration with a 300A SmartShunt.

This intelligent power and docking system supports automated facility workflows, low-power self-docking capability, nighttime charging, and continuous 24/7 deployment cycles.
